Production.

I think the shoot went very well, not too much went wrong apart from the fact we had a couple of shots missing!
This could be blamed on us as perhaps we didn't follow the shooting script properly, I think the person who was responsible for being director and getting the shots done could ultimately be held responsible.

The production process was rather new to me as it required alot more organisation than previous projects. Before we could even start we needed the lyrics, shooting script, storyboard and seating plan. This was quite daunting as I wasn't sure that I would be able to take on that responsibility, however if I'm working together with Matt, things should be a little easier.

Another slight problem we had was in one of the final shots where I was sitting on a table in view of the camera talking, this was not in the music video and should not happen, I think although it is my fault, I should have been alerted to my mistake by the person looking down the camera.

To avoid mistakes instead of trying to film the shots to the exact length we recorded them for a slightly longer time, this meant that we never had the problem of a shot being too short or off time.

To help keep the performers on time we obviously played the track back loud on the speakers in the room we were, this was so everyone could hear it and the actors were sure on their cue, in the few days before shooting the actors were required to learn there lyrics back to front, which they all successfully managed to do. When lip syncing we did agree that singing out loud was the best practice, however I'm not sure everyone did this, and I think you can definitely see this mistake in the video as the mouth movements are unrealistic and exaggerated.

In the original video an old film projector was used and featured in the video, we didn't have access to these type of props so we used the futuristic equivalent of an overhead projector, we also had a problem with the clips of mating animals, we overcame this problem by projecting the images onto the board, and then filming then, this maintained the idea that the image was being projected, and was better than taking the clips from the original video.
